Marilyn Louise (Michl) Abeloe, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully on May 14 with many of her family and friends by her side. She was born in Olney, Illinois to Frank and Lydia Michl on December 10, 1935. As the daughter of an oilfield worker she lived in Illinois, Wyoming and Utah. After graduating in 1953 from Uintah High in Vernal Utah, she attended Saint Mary-of-the-Wasatch in Salt Lake City Utah.
Marilyn later moved to Santa Paula, CA where she worked at Union Oil, First National Bank, Cauch’s Drug, and the US Postal Service.
She married Donald Leland Abeloe in Santa Paula at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church on August 2, 1958. They were married for 60 years and together raised four sons. She loved to sew and travel having visited Hawaii and Europe on three occasions. She and Don also camped regularly in Yosemite, the Sierra, and Carpinteria and Jalama beaches. They also traveled through 40 states in their RV.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Donald L. Abeloe, sons and daughters-in-law Donald L. Abeloe II (Sheryl), David M. Abeloe (Susan), Dennis M. Abeloe (Michelle) and Douglas A. Abeloe.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all that have known and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral rosary and Mass beginning at 10:00 am on Thursday May 30th at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church in Santa Paula. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday May 31st at Santa Maria Cemetery in Santa Maria CA.
