Elizabeth L Kauffman

Elizabeth Kauffman passed away at Hospice House, Sarasota, Florida on October 27, 2017 at the age of 95. Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Henry, her sister, Ada (Owen) Troyer and her parents, Levi and Sarah (Thomas) Bontrager. Elizabeth and her loving husband Henry were married in Middlebury, Indiana on November 11, 1945. Elizabeth is lovingly remembered by her son, Ernest Kauffman, of Sarasota, daughter, Ada (Ken) Miller of Sarasota, grandchildren, Dawn Potter, Sarasota, Therron Kauffman, Raleigh, NC, Travis (Krista) Kauffman, Sarasota, Chad Miller, Sarasota, Joshua Miller, Pensacola, Florida, and Kendrick (Luma) Miller, Sarasota; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was born in Middlebury, Indiana on March 8, 1922. She worked in a restaurant and a carpet factory prior to marriage and was a homemaker and a farmer's wife after marriage. She supplemented the family income by cleaning houses. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, vegetables and flowers. She was active in her church and participated in sewing and food committees. She enjoyed quilting. She was an excellent cook and baker. She and her husband enjoyed entertaining family and friends in their home. The visitation will be held at Palm Grove Mennonite Church, 1087 South Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida on October 31, 2017, at 5 pm to 7 pm and November 1, 2017 9 am to 10 am. The celebration of life will be held at Palm Grove Mennonite Church, 1087 South Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida on Wednesday, November1, 2017 at 10 am with Reverend David. R. Miller officiating. Interment to follow at 2985 Bethel Lane, Sarasota, Florida after the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Palm Grove Mennonite Church, Building Fund, 1087 South Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232.
