E. David Stone, 87, of Sarasota, FL formerly of Eldersburg, MD died on Feb. 13, 2016 He is survived by his two daughters Linda Shifflett from Sykesville, MD and Kathy Kirkpatrick from Providence, RI, one grandson, one great grandson, sister Marie Weatherwalks from Venice, FL and several nieces and nephews. David is also survived by his companion for over 46 years Genevieve Fowler and her daughter Charlena Doline. David moved to Florida in 1982 where was a member of numerous veteran organizations; he was the Commander of Chapter 97th for over 15 years. He was the Florida State Commander from 2004-2005. As a member of the committee he stood firmly on the idea of having a National Cemetery in the city of Sarasota. A committal service with military honors will be held at Sarasota National on March 3rd at 1pm.
