Irene was born in Montgomery, IN. to James and Hazel Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Mason Palmer. Irene lived in St. Louis, MO for 50 years before moving to FL. Survivors include 3 children, 8 grandsons, 7 great grandsons and 6 great granddaughters. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #210 in Washington, IN since 1939 and was an Honored Queen. She was a member of Union Ave Christian Church, St. Louis, MO and an associate member of Pine Shores Presbyterian Church, Sarasota, FL. Irene worked as a bookkeeper and private secretary.
