

James A. Leib 1925-2016 James A. Leib, 91, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2016. He was born on August 2, 1925 in North Royalton, Ohio to Charles and Florence Leib. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Barbara J. (Arant). He is survived by one sister, Ruth Ade of Sarasota and three sons and their spouses; James Douglas and Stacey of Sarasota, Robert Bruce and Marlene of Sarasota and Scott Alan and Lila of Manassas, Virginia. He is further survived by grandchildren; Andy, Lauren, Lindsey, Sarah, Aaron and Taylor and by great grandchildren; James, Jack, Mia and Luke. Jim was a WW2 navy veteran serving on the LST 522 in the South Pacific from 1944-1946. He was a heavy machinery manufacturer in Cleveland, Ohio for several years, moving to Sarasota in 1972. He was a member of the Sarasota Kiwanis Club and served as president for one term. He was a devoted Christian serving churches in a variety of ministries and was a member of the Fellowship of Believers Church. Jim was a committed follower of Jesus Christ, a wonderful husband and father, and an awesome grandfather and great-grandfather. Visitation will be at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota on Thursday, October 27 from 6-8PM. A memorial service will be held at The Fellowship of Believers Church (3333 12th Street, Sarasota) at 10:00AM on Friday, October 28, with Pastors Tom Wilhoit and Don Laffler co-officiating.
