

Jeanne C. Chambers, 96, of Sarasota, FL, formally of Sag Harbor, NY, Cliffside Park, NJ, Crestwood, NY and NYC, died on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home. She was born in Washington, DC on September 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles Clifford and Rhetta Wilson Clifford. She married Theodore "Ted" Chambers Sr on 3 March 1951 they were married for 58 years. Jeanne was a member of the National Honor Society in High School the Dunbar Chapter in Washington, DC. She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from NYU. She was a devoted Mother and Housewife for many years and then worked at NYU as a CPA for a few years. She loved cooking and entertaining, she also loved to watch tennis, spend time with friends and family on Martha's Vineyard and Sag Harbor. She also loved to travel to places such as Russia, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Belize, Europe the Middle East, Africa, Hawaii and many others.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by a son, Theodore T. Chambers, Jr. (Tina) of Newport, RI; Grandchildren, Theodore Chambers, III of Wilmington, DE, Jason Haupt of Groton, CT, Tara Moyer of Rutland, VT, Margo Haupt of Groton, CT, Vaughn Haupt (Allyce) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Gianna Chambers of Newport, RI, Ashley Morris, Melissa Morris, both of Newport, RI, and Jonathan DeMello (Aleah) of Oak Hill, W.VA and 18 Great Grandchildren and her God Daughter Nancy Boxill-Thompson (Dennis). She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore T. Chambers, Sr (Ted), who passed away in 2009, and a son, Vaughn W. Chambers who passed away in 1987.
A private service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery Dec 2nd 11:30 AM, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Ted.
