
Lloyd Ray Adams-age 70, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on June 23, 2017. He was born on October 10, 1946 to Golden Adams and Ruth (Theissens) Meacham. He leaves behind 4 brothers (Golden Jr., Stephen, Lemoyne and Doyle) and 2 sisters (Janice Coover and Gloria Schneider). He graduated from Bear River High School in 1964; attended one year at Utah State University, where he met Diane Dupee. The two were married on June 11, 1966 in Falmouth, Massachusetts after a very brief courtship. They gave birth to 3 children - Lloyd Ray Adams Jr., Jeffrey Scott Adams and Lori Anne Adams Scully - along with becoming grandparents to 2 granddaughters - Mackinley Agnes Scully and Rowen Mayo Scully. Lloyd served in the United States Coast Guard from 1966-1970. He was a bookkeeper for the Mini-businessman Center as well as a life insurance agent. He became a salesman for Pennysaver in 1971, was promoted to sales manager, and in 1986, became the sole owner/publisher of Pennysaver. Lloyd retired in 1990 at age 44 when Capital Cities/ABC, Disney acquired his Cape Cod chain of 8 publications with a mailed circulation of 187,000 households. Lloyd and Diane moved to Sarasota Florida in 1993. He was an avid golfer, playing 4 times a week at Rolling Green Golf Course. He shot 12 holes in one and had 2 double eagles. Lloyd returned to Corporate America in 2013 as the author of "Big Red’s New World Order", a trilogy including "I Am the Big Red Barn", "The Impossible Campaign" and "2021 Our New World Horizon". Lloyd was loved dearly and will forever be remembered by all that met and spent time with him. He had a passion for living, was a constant prankster and the most incredible story and joke teller! There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Lloyd on Sunday, July 23rd @ 3pm Bayside Community Church 15800 SR64, Bradenton FL.
