Ms. Monica Mumford

Monica Jane Mumford, 76, a longtime resident of Sarasota, Florida, died unexpectedly June 7, 2015, after a brief illness while residing at Manor Care Health Services in Sarasota. Monica was the daughter of the late Florence O’Donnell Mumford and George Cunningham Mumford. Born in Utica, New York, Monica lived in Larchmont, New York, during her childhood and she graduated from New Hartford (New York) Central High School and from Gwynedd Mercy University. She had a passion for enjoying the smallest detail of every day and had a lifelong love of all animals, caring for pets and strays with warmth and kindness throughout her life. She had an especially sweet relationship with her elegant black French poodle, Dexa – walking together they were a stunning duo. Monica and Dexa never met a person or dog they were not drawn too. Monica is survived by her sister, Ellen Mumford Farley (P. Robert), New Jersey and her brother, Brian Frederick Mumford (Susan), New York/Florida, as well as her dear college friend (Mrs.) Ellen Moore, Pennsylvania and caring friend (Mrs.) Jean Gutsche, Florida. Her sister, Donna Mumford Boehlert (Bart), predeceased Monica in 2012. Monica will be lovingly remembered by her nieces: Mary Ellen Farley Togman (Jeffrey), Kathleen Farley Carrara (Douglas), Linda Farley (Justin McMahan), Cynthia Grace Boehlert (Barbara), Erin Elizabeth Mumford, Lindsay Mumford Nemith (Mark); and her nephews: Bart George Boehlert (Ted), Thomas Michael Boehlert (Karen), and Eric Mumford Boehlert (Tracy); as well as her grandnieces: Madeline Marie Carrara, Olivia Mumford Carrara, Hazel Crinnion Togman, Grace Farley McMahan, Sadie Farley McMahan, Jane Autumn Boehlert; and grandnephews: Jack Farley Carrara and George Farley Togman, Brian James Boehlert, Aaron Mumford Boehlert, and Ben Hudson Boehlert, each of whom brought Monica great joy. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Burial will be private.
