

Moses Gingerich of Sarasota FL formally of Murphy NC passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shelah (Miller) Gingerich; his daughter, Kimberly Sue Richey; his son, Marcus Moe Akkerman and his wife, Norma Akkerman; his daughter, Wendy Dawn Donovan and her husband Robert Donovan; his brother, Aden Gingerich and his wife Edith Gingerich; five grandchildren, Jeremy Moses Tankersley, Jordan Richey, Michaela Richey, Taylor Donovan, Ty Donovan; three great-grandchildren, Maicey Marks , Jacob Tankersley and Faith Tankersley; one great great-grandchild McKenna Marks; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and close friends. Moe retired in 2009 from Sarasota Ford in Sarasota FL, and he and Shelah moved to Murphy NC. They attended First Baptist Church Of Murphy. Moe served his church and the Lord well by feeding people in need from his community. He would serve meals and hand out groceries to those in need. He would regularly visit the local nursing home with other people from his church and sing for the residents. He volunteered at the Salvation Army, Sarasota FL. in his earlier years. He had a heart for serving people. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Sarasota Community Church in Sarasota FL after he and Shelah moved back to Sarasota in October 2017. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 9:00am until the time of the service at 10:30am at Sarasota Community Church, 4041 Bahia Vista St. Sarasota, FL. 34232. Burial to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72 (Clark Rd) Sarasota, FL 34241.
