Pietrafetta, went peacefully after a hard-fought battle with ALS. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, and three children, Douglas Pietrafetta and his wife Margaret., Christine Reale, and Matthew Pietrafetta and his wife Lauren. Phil is also survived by his three grandchildren, whom he held so very dear, Samantha Reale, daughter of Christine, and Zachary and Lily Pietrafetta, children of Matthew and Lauren, as well as his loving brother, Robert Pietrafetta. Born January 17, 1940, in Roxbury, MA, Phil attended Boston College High School, where upon graduation, he joined the US Army. After his service in the Army, Phil used the G.I. Bill to attend Northeastern University. Always hard working, Phil built his career over a 45 year period, becoming a highly regarded salesman in the commercial printing paper business, ultimately rising to hold the office of president of his company until his retirement in 2013. Although deeply involved in his work and dedicated to his clients and staff, Phil especially enjoyed travel, fishing, golf, and spending time with his entire family. Having had a close and caring relationship with those dear to him, he will never be forgotten by his family and friends. A private service will be held by the family at a later date. Always remembering his roots in Roxbury or his faith, Phil supported his neighborhood parish and convent throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to either St. Patrick’s Parish 10 Magazine St, Roxbury, MA 02119, phone number: (617) 445-7645 or The Carmelite Nuns of Boston, 61 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Roxbury, MA 02119, phone number: (617) 442-1411.
