I am saddened by the news of Dick's passing. I worked as a volunteer with him at Resurrection House for many years until health issues forced him to stop.  I hold the deepest respect for him and his dedication to Christian service. He offerred much appreciated leadership in his work there as we all strove together to  help the homeless of Sarasota. I will miss him but know he is in a much better place now. Farewell Dick until we meet again. I pray your family and friends will be comforted and know that he helped make this world a better place while he was here. 

I never met Richard, but my Father David E. Shope grew up with him and maintained contact until his passing five years ago. 
My Father shared many memories of them "running" together through the neighborhood in Bowling Green, Ohio.

We are so grateful for the encouragement and prayers of Dick and Marcia through many years. We have lived overseas and have not been able to see them for a long time, yet they remained faithful to their Lord and to us. We send our condolences and love to their children and grandchildren. May you be blessed continually.

It seems like just a few days ago Dick and I were chatting at the local Post Office. He and Marcia were always exemplary people, whether at Grace Baptist or at their home or just chatting on the "street corner."  Dick always made you feel that he genuinely cared about you.  He has gone Home to be with his Lord and Savior.  For that, we rejoice!
