

Much loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to so many, Robert H Wilson, Sr. of Sarasota, Fl, formerly of Fishkill, NY, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on November 5th, 2014 Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lillie M. Wilson, loving father to Faith Frost, Robert (Bob) Wilson, Jr,, Donald W. Wilson, Doreen Wilson, Jonnie Dwyer and Stephen Kondor all of Sarasota, Florida. Proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Bob is survived by his brothers William Wilson and Gilbert Wilson. His sisters Elizabeth Adams, Regina Tari and Mary Lou Segretti and predeceased by his brothers Jack Wilson and Gary Wilson. Bob was born and raised in Peekskill, NY on August 31st, 1932 to William and Wilhemina Wilson. Bob joined the Navy in 1949, and served on the USS Midway and USS Mindoro. Returned home after his term in the Navy and married his true love Lillie Presher. Bob started his career as an auto mechanic and then spent 10 years working for Arkawy Construction before starting his own Excavation Company, Wilson Excavators. Bob’s hobbies included racing (9 of Spades). In his retirement, Bob spent much of his time rebuilding antique cars and trucks, attending NASCAR races and flying his Saratoga “Tango 95”. Bob was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Sarasota, Fl. Bob will always be known for his willingness to help others. Bob was known as “Chief”. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 10th at the Church of Hope Life Center, 1560 Wendell Kent Rd, Sarasota, Fl at 6:30pm with a light reception to follow. There will be a burial with military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery to be announced at a later date.
