Rosemary Gabriel Chomicki

Rosemary Chomicki, age 67, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 42 years, Paul Chomicki, and her two daughters, Jacqueline Casciano and Stephanie Bowden.

Rosemary was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Rose Gabriel. After graduating from Penn State University in 1978 she worked as an Economist with the Department of Energy for 10 years. Rosemary and Paul were married in Philadelphia in 1981. In their early married life they lived in Maryland, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Kansas. During their 20 years in Kansas, Rosemary and Paul raised their two daughters until retiring to Florida in 2013. While in Kansas, Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her daughters and watching them play softball through college, as well as working as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in the nearby elementary schools.

After moving to Sarasota, Florida, Rosemary spent her time going to the beach, walking her yorkiepoo dogs around the neighborhood, going to the gym, and shopping, especially with her daughters who would often visit. Rosemary was passionate about her 4 grandchildren, Nicholas (6), Penelope (6), Maxwell (4), and Lucas (4), and loved shopping for them and showering them with gifts!

Rosemary will be remembered for her contagious personality, kind spirit, and loving and selfless nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on through her devoted husband, and loving daughters who always looked up to her as their role model.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota for providing Rosemary with the highest quality of care in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 at 11:00am at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home - Wiegand Chapel, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
