He graduated from Austin Texas high school. He served in the US Army (1959). He received a Master's Degree from Indiana University.
He worked at Arvin Industries in Columbus, Indiana as a Database Engineer, retiring as a System Analyst Supervisor from the State of Indiana.
Bill was proceeded in death by his first wife Joann Ross (Jones) in 1993, and lost his second wife, Vickie in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Pearlie M Ross; son, Mark Ross and his wife, MaryAnn Ross; granddaughter, Carolyn A. Ross; grandson, Jeff Metzner; daughter-in-law Katie Metzer (Jeff’s wife), who are the parents of Bill’s 6 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Allisonville Christian Church, and held several leadership positions in the church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine, and the Order of the Eastern Star in which he held several positions. He was a Scout leader and coached little league for several years. He enjoyed Golf, playing cards, and any social activities that involved food and fellowship.
