

Antonio “Tony” da Terra was born on the Azorean Island of Faial, Portugal on July 23, 1934, and passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon on December 23, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Leatta (nee Witt), of 36 years, his sister Maria Silveira, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and his wife of 17 years, Hella.
Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1959 and settled in Saskatoon where he joined his brother, Manuel, who had immigrated in 1957.
Antonio developed a hard-working ethic at a very young age since his father had died when he was three years old, and his mother was left to raise six children as a single parent. He lived a spiritual life; his faith was very important to him.
He was an accomplished entrepreneur who recognized opportunities and ran two successful businesses in his lifetime. Antonio greatly enjoyed social activities with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling and gardening; he had a deep appreciation of nature and often went walking along the Meewasin Trail. He enjoyed watching history documentaries and nature programs, and was an avid reader.
Antonio had an appreciation for music; he enjoyed singing in various church choirs as well as the University Community Chorus and the Sicilian Singers.

Deep appreciation is expressed for St. Anne’s Parish, the choir, and the CWL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's on Saturday January 4th, 2025 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
