Bertha was born to Wilfred and Eva (Bellefeuille) Poisson and raised on the family farm near Dollard, SK. Bertha married the love of her life, Elvin, on October 14, 1948 and their growing family had opportunities to live in Shaunavon, New Westminster, Regina, Moose Jaw, Brandon, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon. Bertha was a woman of faith and lived the gospel in her daily life. She had a kind, gentle soul and embraced all. Bertha’s accomplishments in life were many and varied, but her most proud and beloved were her family. Bertha is predeceased by her parents; brothers Paul, Benoit, and Conrad; her husband, Elvin; Elvin’s siblings and their spouses Ralph (Irene), Douglas (Margaret), Violet (Bayard), Mae (George) and Allen. Left to cherish Bertha’s love and share fond memories are: daughters Joan and Shelley; son Leslie; grandchildren Monique (Dennis), Michael, Nicole (Derek), Brett, Scott (Kaliegh), Jason (Brittany), and David (Danielle); great-grandchildren Emmett, Gavin, Drew, Sydney, and Ryan; sisters-in-law Doris, Doris, Ione, and Beth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 22 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Rd) with Rev. Father Darryl Millette as celebrant.
