Bertha leaves behind a loving family and is survived by her sons Ed (Sheila), Doug (Eileen) and daughter Linda (Charlie) Fisher; grandchildren Angie (Daryl) Cooper, Wendi (Dave) Bueckert,
Rob (Kaley), Adam (Colleen), Scott (Kathrine), Allison (Bryan) Kolisnyk, Erin Fisher, Blair (Michelle) Fisher, Chris (Melanie), Sean (Toni) Fisher; and 24 great grandchildren.
Bertha was predeceased by her loving husband Jim; parents Eva and Charles Menard; sister Esther and brother Edward.
Bertha was born in Lampman SK on March 25, 1922. She attended the Marvel Beauty School in Saskatoon and was hired into her first job at the Marvel Beauty Parlor. In 1943, she met her husband Jim while he was home on leave from serving in the navy during World War II. In February 1945, they married in Halifax NS. Later that year they moved back to Saskatoon to raise their family. Some of Bertha’s favorite things were cooking, gardening, bowling, visiting with friends and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
