
Beryl passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 27, 2010 at the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre. She was predeceased by her parents Alf and Eva Featherston, first husband Ed Good, son Terry Good, brother Ed Featherston, sister Grace Bulmer, brother in law Basil Bulmer and extended family member Lloyd Beckett. Beryl was born on the family homestead in the Kinley district on May 6, 1920. She attended Jasper School and graduated from high school at City Park Collegiate. She married Ed Good in 1940 and together they were blessed with the birth of five children Lynne, Terry, Trent, Jill and Jack. Ed passed away in 1951 and Beryl returned to the family farm with her young family living with the care and support of her loving brothers, Russ and Ed. In 1963 she moved to Saskatoon and began work at City Hall in the Assessors Office. In 1974 she married Charlie Beckett, a farmer in the Kinley district. Beryl and Charlie spent their years farming together and vacationing during the cold winter months in Arizona. Charlie passed away earlier this year.
Beryl loved her crafts and took great delight in supplying her children and grandchildren with scarves, mitts and afghans. She and Charlie loved to square dance and to socialize with their dancing friends from all over North America. She always welcomed the opportunity to engage in conversation with friends and family over a late afternoon rum and coke. Beryl will be lovingly remembered by her brother Russ Featherston; daughter Lynne (Dick) Morrell and grandchildren Leslie (Tyler) Williams, Tim (Sandy) and Todd (Pam); the children of her deceased son Terry including Tracy, Scott and Michael; Trent (Dianne) and grandchildren Kerby (Annette), Carly (Pete) and Renee (Dwayne); daughter Jill (Sam) Sherstobitoff and grandchildren Casey (Agata) and Celena (Mark) and son Jack (Nicky) and grandchildren Harley (Jade) and Paula. Beryl also leaves to mourn her extended Beckett family including Bev and grandchildren Cheryl, Brad and Grady; Brian (Dorothy) and grandchildren Susan and Stacey. Our Mother was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was very important to our Mother. She loved family gatherings and was always enthusiastic in sharing her love with her family. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of Sunnyside for the wonderful care they gave our mother. The attention given to her during her final days is sincerely appreciated. A funeral service was held at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre at 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon S7H 5N4 (306) 955-1600 on January 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment of cremated remains will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre at 2200, St. Henry Avenue, Saskatoon S7M 0P5 or to a charity of one’s choice.
