With great sadness we announce the passing of Brian Morris Paranica, 65, of Saskatoon, SK. Brian passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2026, at Mennonite Special Care Home in Warman, SK. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Morris. He is survived by his mother, Ann; his brothers: Daryl (Nicole) Edmonton, AB, Grant (Kristine) Grand Forks, ND, Kevin, Battleford, SK; Nieces: Maya, Abby, Jordyn and Grace, and Nephew, Tarek.
Brian was born April 9,1961 in North Battleford, SK, the eldest son of Morris and Ann Paranica. He graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Political Studies in 1987 and from the University of Lethbridge in 1994 with a degree in Management. Following Graduation, Brian worked for the Federal Government in Ottawa, before being diagnosed with MS and returning to Saskatoon in 2001.
Brian was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. He volunteered his time for several organizations, loved to talk politics with friends and family, and especially enjoyed following his favorite sports teams the Portland Winterhawks and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs football team. He was kind, caring and cheerful, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (436 Spadina Crescent E, Saskatoon, SK S7K 6X6) with Pastor Roberto DeSandoli as Officiant. A light lunch will be served following the service.
