His Laugh and Smile… a couple of the ways on how we will remember Brian. Brian fought hard the past few years battling cancer but it is with great sorrow that he lost the valiant fight on Sunday, January 17, 2021 with his husband and family by his side. This amazing man was born on October 30, 1963 to Mike and Hazel Pasichnyk and anyone who knew Brian knew how much he loved life, music, food and travel. Mr. Music would spend hours and hours listening through music and finding the best music that he could. From the old days of making mixed tapes to mixed CD’s to digital music, Brian was always the guy to go to for some great music. His love of food meant he was always looking to try something new in both eating and cooking himself. Travelling the world, he was able to taste many different dishes but due to his illness he couldn’t get to Thailand for his favorite Thai dishes. His love of travel started young with family trips, then trips throughout the United States, Europe, The Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada and making new friends along the way. His smile and laugh were contagious and those that met him remembered him easily. Many a dinner party, celebrations or just quick get-togethers were had at Brian and Wayne’s home with lots of food and “refreshments.” Besides being a great cook, he was a great bartender. Saskatoon was always home for Brian, working first in the Hospitality Industry and then in the Saskatoon Health Association where he worked until his illness forced him to stop work. He was a hard, conscientious, and dedicated employee and was proud of the work he did. Brian found the man for him in Wayne, and together they purchased a home and travelled the world. Marrying for their 10th anniversary in 2019 was a great moment for them as they had “eloped” in Vancouver, not telling anyone of their plans until it was done. They even surprised their dear friends Connie and Warren by having them stand up for them at the ceremony. Many of their friends would tell them that the two were meant for each other and they had never seen the kind of love they had together, the perfect couple sometimes being called “sickening” in jest. Family meant everything to Brian, and he loved the weekly Sunday dinners at his parent’s home, always coming home with some leftovers for a few days. Brian leaves to mourn his husband Wayne Morgan, parents Mike and Hazel Pasichnyk, sister Brenda (Pat) Bradley and their sons Jordan (Melissa) and Tyler (Ashlyn); sister Val Deichert and her daughters Avery (Fiancé Zack Deiana) and Brooklyn; sister Laurie (Marty) Bussiere and their children Gina Stewart and Holly Stewart (boyfriend Dylan Fister), D’Shae Bussiere and Kyran Bussiere; sister Debbie (Chad) Hein and their son Rigley, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Brian loved all of his family, but Little Rigley had a special spot in Guncle Brian’s heart. Rigley would make his day when he came to visit especially when Brian was in the hospital. We would like to thank all of his dear friends for the support and love they have sent over the years, his coworkers, and the staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic and St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care. Those wishing to place a memorial donation in lieu of other tributes may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care. Brian had too many great friends to list them all, but you know who you are. A Private Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 with live-streaming available at: www.aspenfilms.ca/mg . A Celebration of Life will be planned when we can all get together to celebrate the life of this great man. Arrangements in care of Travis Minor – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
