Catherine ""Cathy"" Dawn Robson

1959-2015

It is with heavy hearts and profound grief that the family of Catherine Dawn Robson (nee Friest) announces her earthly journey ended on September 19, 2015 following a short, but valiant fight with cancer. Leaving behind to mourn her loss are her husband of 28 years, James; along with their sons Bradley (26) and Christopher (22); sisters Patricia Andersen (David), Glenna Archer (Jerry); numerous nieces, nephews, many wonderful, supportive and loving in-laws, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Gwendolyn Friest.

Cathy was born in Swift Current, SK in 1959.  Growing up, she participated in many sports, sang in choirs, played the piano, and was involved with drama productions and public speaking.  Cathy graduated high school in 1977 and then attended Saskatoon Business College. She joined McKercher Law Firm in 1978 and was a faithful, hard-working employee for 37 years.  Her sparkling personality, quick wit, wicked sense of humour, and beautiful smile were second to none.  She loved her family and was the ultimate homemaker. She enjoyed music, cooking, reading, gardening, and the Calgary Flames.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit.  Your care and compassion allowed our family to share the journey with Cathy.  Special thanks to Cathy’s marvelous friend, Carol Hannah, whose love, devotion and dedication to Cathy for many years, as well as support for our family during this difficult time, will always be remembered.

The family wishes to invite you to join in a Celebration of Cathy’s Life on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 606 Spadina Crescent West, Saskatoon, SK from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.  Please dress casually.

A eulogy will be given at 2 pm following which all are welcome to share their special memories of Cathy.  If you have a story or memory but do not wish to present it personally, please forward it to Carol Hannah at [email protected].
