

Cora Schindel passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Extendicare in Saskatoon. Cora was born on March 3, 1929 to Edgar and Gladys Grafham of Conquest. She married Alvin Christian Schindel on September 8, 1951 in Saskatoon. He preceded her death on January 28, 2006. Cora went to St. Paul’s School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1950. She worked for many years in Saskatoon, Minneapolis and Peterborough, ON. Cora worked hand in hand with Alvin at Bethel Bible Institute and then Central Pentecostal Bible College. She was a member of Elim Tabernacle and was very active in many volunteer positions. St. Paul’s Nursing Alumni was very important. She helped plan reunions and worked at the gift shop for many years. Cora loved to cook and bake and was an avid crafter. In 2006 she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. She lived at Elim Lodge, Keedwell Assisted Living Center and Extendicare. She received excellent care and made many friends. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Joanne (Bob) Bergen; grandsons Tom (Candace) Bergen and their children Maddex and Harper, Kyle (Marci) Bergen and their son Mason; sister Phyllis (Bob) Swaffield, nieces Wendy (Royal) Woods and Cindy (Greg) Holman; brother Bill (Marcia) Grafham, niece Carolyn and nephew David. A Celebration of Cora’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Elim Church (419 Slimmon Rd.) in Saskatoon. A Public Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada – Saskatchewan (#110B - 2103 Airport Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6W2).
