Corey Andrew Serhyenko

Corey Andrew Serhyenko, beloved father, son, and brother, peacefully joined his loved ones in heaven on September 12, 2026, at St. Paul’s Hospital, at the age of 57 with his daughters and family by his side.

Corey leaves behind a life filled with memories, marked by his hard work, dedication, and willingness to always help. Always going the extra mile in life and for those he loved. Born on March 20th, 1969, in Hafford, Saskatchewan, Corey was the eldest of three children born to Andy and Carol Serhyenko. After completing his education at Hafford Central School, Corey worked many different jobs around the Hafford area before moving to Saskatoon at the age of 25. He worked at Flexi-Coil as an air seeder technician for 19 years (1994-2013) before moving on to Q-Line Trucking, where he worked as a dedicated trucker for 8 years (2013-2021) before retiring due to battles with chronic illness. Alongside his daily work, Corey also worked on the family farm alongside his father, always ready to lend a hand wherever necessary, out of his passion for farming.

Corey was an inspirational and loving father to his two daughters, Chloe and Ceira, who he loved dearly. Corey will be remembered for his love of fishing, the outdoors, projects he did in the garage while blasting his favourite songs by AC/DC, his love for cooking on the smoker, gardening, and flowers. He had a heart of gold and lived his life with dedication and purpose. He was the kind of person you could call in any situation, and you would always end the conversation laughing. Corey often talked about wanting to go fishing again; to take the day, head to the lake, get in his boat, and hopefully catch some fish. It was one of the things he was most passionate about, and one of the last things he truly hoped to do. Though illness kept him from getting back on the water, comfort is found knowing he is now out on the water fishing with his dad and very best friend Andy.

Corey was preceded in death by his loving father, Andy Serhyenko, as well as numerous family members and friends.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Chloe and Ceira Serhyenko and mother of his children Sherri Turta; mother, Carol Serhyenko; sister, Aneta (Emil) Usselman and their children, Cody (son Gabriel) and Jordan (son Parker); sister, Janelle (Otto) Lavallee and their children, Austin and Colby (Kaylee); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
