It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, Dana (Dingo) Grant. Son of James and Mary Grant, Dana was born in Saskatoon, SK before moving around the province with his family for many years. After finishing high school in Melfort, Dana worked at Tri-City Surveys before moving to Moose Jaw and starting a family. He attended technical school in Moose Jaw to become a Legal Land Surveyor. In 1985, his small family moved to Saskatoon where Dana accepted a position with Webb Surveys. What he thought was only a 10-year position turned into a nearly 36-year career. For more than 20 years, he worked alongside his partner Jim Maines who became a mentor and great friend. He was a dedicated employee and had a true passion for his job. He loved working for Tom Webb. When he wasn’t at work he was always reading books of any kind, fishing, visiting with his friends at the pub and more recently lawn bowling at the Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club. He is survived by his loving parents Jim & Mary Grant of Tisdale, his sisters Margo (Fraser) of Halifax, NS, Carmen (James) of Stratford, ON, his children Cameron Grant (Jenna) of Melfort, SK, Kayla Forstey (Mikel) of Saskatoon, SK, his grandsons Parker, Paxton and Frederik, his niece Emma Ross of Halifax, NS, and the mother of his children, Anna Macala (neé Presber) of Saskatoon, SK. Dana is predeceased by his brother Regan Grant. A Private Family Service will be held Monday, and a Celebration of Dana’s Life will be held at his favourite pub on Wednesday, August 26th in the evening. Arrangements in care of Ashley Knash – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca.
