

Born in Prince Albert, Jim graduated from Prince Albert Technical High School in 1969. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed playing hockey, golf and ball, but never took any of the games too seriously. He spent many years at the family cabin in Waskesiu where he met lots of lifetime friends. Jim was known as “Boog” and “Skinny” to his friends and family.
Jim moved to Saskatoon and had a successful career for nearly 50 years in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator retiring in 2018 as Sasktel Crew Supervisor with Hundseth Power Line Construction.
A lifelong bachelor, Jim was a generous, happy and caring guy who had a great sense of humour and loved spending time with family and friends.
Jim will be dearly missed by his five siblings: Carole (Ross) Hewett of Elk Ridge, Doug (Maureen) Reid of Saskatoon,, Harry (Merrilyn) Reid of Priddis AB, Gordon Reid of Saskatoon and Cathy (Cindy) Reid of High River AB. He was Uncle Jimmy to Jennifer (Cory) Mulcahy of Edmonton, Craig (Melissa) Reid of Spruce Grove AB, Jason Hewett of Edmonton, Chad (Sarah) Reid of Calgary and great Uncle to Jorey, Chloe, Madison, Broden, Colson, Liam, Declan and Bailey. Jim was predeceased by his parents.
Cremation has taken place and a family memorial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Travis Minor.
