It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dawn Maria McInnis, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. After a courageous battle with cancer Dawn passed on February 23, 2019 at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family. Dawn was born on August 29, 1946, in Sault Ste. Marie, ON to Alex and Violet (Dallaire) Somes. On February 12, 1966, she married her soul mate, Wayne McInnis, and they have been together for 53 years. They raised three sons. She retired from a successful career at the Royal Bank in 2005 finishing her career at the 8th and Goodwin Branch in Saskatoon. Dawn was a member of the St. Augustine Parish. Some of Dawn’s great loves were spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as spending summers with friends and family at “camp” in Batchawana Bay, ON. Although a private person by nature, she loved her family and friends deeply. We will miss her every day. Dawn is survived by her husband Wayne, her three sons, Martin (Lisa), Michael (Bonnie) and Robert (Tanya), her grandchildren Evan, Kyle, Duncan, Rhiannon and Mark, her mother Violet, her siblings Mary (Gary), Joseph (Jane) and Karen (Wayne), her nephew Wesley and several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law. Special thanks to the palliative home care staff and the nurses and doctors at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre who provided such great care of her. A private celebration of Dawn’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Close to Home Campaign, or a charity of your choice.
