With heavy hearts, we share that Deborah (Debbie) Paul passed away peacefully on August 18th, 2023 holding the hand of her husband of 52 years Donald (Don) Paul, following a courageous battle with follicular lymphoma. Debbie was born in Brandon, Manitoba to Robert and Barbara Henson, oldest sister of Patti, Nancy, Donna, Bobby, and Darren. Don and Debbie married in 1971 and together built a life with a focus on family and friends. Debbie was a devoted mother of three daughters, Michelle (Doug Maynard and sons Jackson and Lucas), Renee (Chris Lukie, daughter Mikaela and son Erik), and Ashlyn Paul. The five grew up together moving across Manitoba and Ontario before settling in Saskatoon, making it their home in 1986. Debbie was remarkably creative with a love of cooking, interior decorating, retail therapy and travel. Debbie’s greatest joy was spending time with her four grandchildren Mikaela, Erik, Jackson, and Lucas. Together building lifelong memories of their time at Papa and Grandma’s house, Turtle Lake, and Maui.
Throughout her life, Debbie was able to face adversity and build remarkable resilience inspiring those around her with her strength. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. The family is forever grateful to the amazing Oncology Staff at the Royal University Hospital for providing such remarkable care. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Royal University Hospital Foundation.
