Donald "Don" Johannesson

April 4, 1952 – June 28, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Johannesson, beloved husband, father and son, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Don was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan on April 4, 1952. Don is predeceased by his father, Rognvaldur (Reggie) Johannesson, his brothers, Rodney and Barry Johannesson, his sisters, Esther and Sharlette Johannesson.

Don is survived by his wife, Verna Wood-Johannesson (nee Brossart), his mother Johanna, his sons Cory (Roxanne), Alex (Christina) and Jeremy Wood; his daughters, Krista Neubauer (Ryan), Katie Lewis (Travis) and Vanessa Roberts (Matthew); grandchildren, Avery, Abby, Nate, Mason, Devon, Lawson, Grayer and Ivey; his sisters, Debbie and Joanne as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Road) on Thursday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Foundation, directed to Larson House Social & Brief Detox Unit.

A special thanks to Dr. Cliff and Laurie Bell for their special care, to the doctors and staff at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit, the homecare team and the Cancer Clinic team for extending Don’s life and giving him quality of life in his courageous battle with cancer.
