

Dorothy passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, November 5, 2023 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon at the age of 93. Dot was born on the family farm in the Evergreen School District, Leask, Saskatchewan on November 4, 1930. Life in a large family and farm was always busy and exciting. She had calves in the 4H Club as did many of her siblings. She lived most of her life in Saskatoon. She attended Robertson Secretarial School, worked at TD Bank in Rosetown, Eaton’s for 8 years. She volunteered with RCAF Reserves for 7 years. After Eaton’s she worked at the University for several departments. She volunteered as s secretary to the RCAF Association and University Retirees Association for 20 years. Dot made many trips to visit relatives in London and Wales. She also went as a Research Assistant for a professor at the University of Saskatchewan while he was studying at Oxford. She so loved getting together at potluck suppers at Parkside, Leask with family and friends. She lived independently at her condo in Saskatoon right up to the day of her passing which is how she would have wanted it. She leaves to mourn her son Ken (Colleen) Spence; her grandsons Kris, Dylan of Estevan, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Arabella Peake; brother and sisters Fred, Evelyn (Harold), David (Edna), Syd (Dorothy), Frank Jr (Ida), Charles (Shirley), Edith (Arnold), Ernest (Lily) and Robert (Frieda). The family is very grateful to the Royal University Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital and City Hospital for their care and compassion given to Dot. As per Dot’s wishes a Graveside Memorial Service will take place at Honeywood Cemetery, Parkside, Saskatchewan at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Thea Katchmar.
