Doug passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Doug was born on his grandparent's farm near Luseland, Saskatchewan and was raised on a farm in the vicinity. He also spent his younger years in the town of Luseland and received his education through high school there. Doug was predeceased by his parents Rhoda and Ken Campbell, his spouse Ardella Davison, and his brothers Sam and Art Campbell. Doug married Shirley MacDonald in 1968; they were separated in 1994. Doug is survived by nephews and nieces; Dean Campbell (Deanne), Duncan Campbell (Pat), Janice Reade (Clayton), Bobbie Campbell, Leslie Lyons (Don), and Shannon Campbell. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews who he was very fond of. Doug spent his working career doing engineering work with the Government of Saskatchewan including the Depts. of Agriculture, Natural Resources, Northern Saskatchewan, and Highways. He retired from government work in 1987 and spent 3 years as manager of Emerald Lake Regional Park. Doug loved the outdoors and he and Ardella spent a great deal of time camping and fishing in Northern Saskatchewan. He was also a hunter and spent considerable time hunting birds and big game. Per Doug's request, no formal service will be held. Interment will be at a later date in Luseland, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the RUH Foundation or Ducks Unlimited Canada. Arrangements entrusted to Aimé Laventure.
