

It is with our sincere regret that we announce the passing of Dylan William Nahorniak on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He leaves his wife, Rochelle; daughter, Brooklyn; parents, Gino and Colleen; sisters, Corinne (Tim) Jasmine and Colton; Beth (Rod) Gaius and Camilo; Teralyn (Brenon); parents-in-law, Bob and Pam Breit; sister-in-law, LeeAnne (Clint) and Paige; brothers-in-law, Ryan and Rob; grandparents, Al and Lois Hattie; aunts and uncles, Blair Hattie; Brent (Debbie) Hattie, Jason, Kevin, Lisa; Linda (Butch) Karlenzig, Broderick, Bryce; Fred Nahorniak; Hope Nahorniak (Fred), Justin (Kiera), Liam, Owen; David (Tammy) Nahorniak, Amy, Rylan; Sylvia (Aron) Franson, Adam, William, Melanie; Lawrence Nahorniak, Bradley, Crystal, Devon, Brittney, Jordan; Irene (Terry) Greck; Michelle (Peter) Saccucci, Melissa, Paul; Melveen (Skip) Lyttle, Colin, Chantelle, Samantha, Kierra; as well as numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. Dylan was predeceased by Baba Zinnia Gido Bill; Great Grandma and Grandad Boan and Great Grandma and Grandpa Hattie. On November 18, 1987, Dylan William Nahorniak was born to Colleen and Gino. He was baptized at St. Martin's United Church where he attended preschool. He started kindergarten at Prince Phillip School and after a few days was moved to Grade 1. We moved to Lakeview where he completed elementary school. He attended Walter Murray Collegiate and graduated Grade 12. Dylan had a passion for sports and took pride in everything he did. He did as much as possible everyday. He was part of Beavers, Sea Cadets, Air Cadets, Soccer, Raiders Football and high school football, Tai Kwan Do black belt, high school basketball, and community basketball, golf, swimming lessons, but his true passion was baseball. He started T-ball when he was 5. He was a left-handed pitcher on the Cardinals, Braves, Cubs, Sundevils, Tigers, Yellow Jackets and Stallions while in Saskatoon. He wanted to go to the next level and attended college in Nanimo, BC, team Malaspina. Then to Twin Falls, Idaho, CSI then Miami Oklahoma NEO and COD College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California. Rochelle spent time with him at each college and when Brooklyn was born lived in California with him to support him. The summers he came back from college he worked at Saskatoon Airport Screening (CATSA) and ScotiaBank. Upon completion of the season he joined the family business Al Hattie Insurance and completed numerous insurance courses. He was an asset to our office. Rochelle and Brooklyn changed his life. Together they made lots of sacrifices and compromises and their love grew stronger. They got married June 19, 2010. This was the happiest day of his life. His life was only 22 years but he lived each day to the fullest and was a joy to be around. Everyone loved Dylan. Gino and Colleen are the proudest parents and Rochelle and Brooklyn will never forget what a wonderful husband and father he was. We miss him so much. Everybody that was touched by Dylan's life is welcome to a Public Visitation on Friday, September 10, 2010 between 7 and 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. Both services will be held at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive). In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for Dylan's little girl, Brooklyn, has been set up at ScotiaBank Circle Centre Mall, Saskatoon, SK. Arrangements are in care of Nicole Welford 955-1600.
