Edith Maria Whiting

Born on January 16, 1923 in Mont Nebo, SK to Gustav and Anna Ohrn (nee Lindberg) passed away peacefully on August 17, 2016 in the presence of her loved ones. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lorie Reschny and Maryann Whiting; grandchildren Simon (Kathleen) Reschny; great- grandchildren Cameron Kautzman, Jason (Tami) Kautzman, Kimberly (Justin) Scott; great-great-granddaughters Rachel and Emily; grandchildren Les (Mary) Reschny; great-grandchildren Eli and Evelyn; grandchildren Shaun Reschny (Sharla Kondra); great-grandsons Grayson and Nickson; one sister Karin Welch and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Eric in 1995; brother John in 2006; sister Anna in 2008 and; husband Ross in 2008. Edith was a skilled seamstress working at Crest Craft in Saskatoon before she married and then while raising her family continued with sewing projects such as wedding dresses, family Halloween costumes, doing many alterations, and decorating numerous wedding cakes. Edith was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was very important to her as she enjoyed many family gatherings. After Ross’ death Edith moved to a private care home where she resided until her passing.  She was loved by all who knew her warm and gentle heart.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday August 22, 2016 at Grace-Westminster United Church (505- 10th St, Saskatoon, SK). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Agency (20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4) or Christian Horizons - Waldheim Program (4006 3rd Ave E, Waldheim, SK S0K 4R0).
