Edna, formally of Viscount Saskatchewan was born December 13th, 1935, in Manitoba. She was one of seven siblings born to Dorothy and Robert Twiss.
Edna married Frank Stadnyk in 1957. Few knew that she gave up a career in the Canadian Air Force to be married and start a family. Edna enjoyed a life devoted to her family. She was never shy of hard work, often insisting and proving she would rise to any challenge. She was strict in her routine which allowed her to be independent and keep the endurance of a life to be admired.
Edna’s playful and imaginative approach to life and fierce vitality for life remained in her final days, she was willing to do whatever she needed to move forward, facing the challenges head on. She enjoyed a spirited game of dice or crib, schooling her opponents with great humility. Tea was always available to accompany treats at her table, along with a kind word and glowing smile.
Edna never held an assumption that she couldn’t or shouldn’t be present for those that needed to lean on her strength. Every person privileged enough to receive an embrace from her, received her warmth of heart. Edna’s presence was to feel no judgement, rather true kindness and peacefulness. Edna emanated love, generosity and sacrifice despite no abundance of wealth. Her greatest dream was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great -great grandchildren in a house big enough for all her descendants, as she prepared a great feast and delighted in the laughter of those she loved.
Edna is predeceased by her husband Frank in 1974, parents Dorothy and Robert, siblings (Trevona, Jack, Frank, Marjorie, Dorothy and Sonny) her daughter Brenda and her granddaughter Valerie.
She is survived by her daughters Sairra (Halifax), Dorothy (Viscount), Sharon (Wynyard), Donna (Simpson), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
