Her family moved from Domremy to Zenon Park where she received her schooling. After high school Elaine began work as a nurse’s aide at the local hospital. She eventually met the love of her life, Raymond LaRochelle, and they were married on November 8, 1961. Out of the marriage was born two children, a son and a daughter.
Elaine held many different jobs over the years including working in the medical clinic in Arborfield, then onto the Bank of Montreal, also in Arborfield and her final job before retiring was at the Zenon Park Credit Union.
Elaine came from a very musical family. She was part of a band starting from the early age of approximately 14 and played in several bands throughout the years. She played the accordion as well as keyboard and of course had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed singing with her family and there was never a family get together that didn’t involve music.
She had many loves besides music including gardening, tending to her flowers, oil painting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, curling and of course golfing. She was responsible for introducing the game of golf to her grandchildren who love the game as much as she did. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she didn’t miss an opportunity to talk about them with anyone who would listen.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Raymond; her son Guy (Lise) and her daughter Liane; grandchildren Christian, Chloe, Eric, Cory, Rylan (McKaila), Haley, Jillian (Cruz), great granddaughter Brielle, as well as all her brothers, sisters, and their families.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 21, 2026, at Mourning Glory- Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel, (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon), with a Reception to follow.
