It is with deep sadness and a lifetime of memories that we say goodbye to our dear father, grandfather and friend, Elvin Walter. Elvin married Margaret Townend in 1956 and they raised five daughters on a farm south of Saskatoon, which he farmed with his two younger brothers. Elvin cherished spending time with his family, brothers, sisters and many friends. Everyone, young and old, were drawn to his engaging and outgoing personality. Elvin was generous with his time and volunteered at the church, the condominium and the Royal University Hospital. He also made over 100 donations of blood at the Red Cross. Elvin was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, and 12 brothers and sisters. Left to celebrate his life and mourn his passing are his sister, Evelyn Dressler and sister-in-law Joyce Walter along with his daughters; Brenda Perehudoff, Bonnie Kohlhase, Bev (Kevin) Fairburn, Bernie Walter, and Judy (John) Rau. There are also 8 grandchildren; Leon (Monica), Curtis (Jen), Jarrett (Jill), Justin, Alecia, Karli (Pirman), Dani, Brooke (Kevin) and 9 great grandchildren.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.”
A Celebration of Elvin’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Faith Lutheran Church (2801 Preston Avenue South, Saskatoon).
Arrangements entrusted to Kenton Brownridge.
