Eunice Young

Eunice passed away peacefully at Porteous Lodge on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 10:54 p.m. She is survived by one grandson Clint (Christin) and great grandchildren Claire and Conner Young, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Norman Young (2007) and their son Cecil Albert (2018), her parents Joseph and Alma Peckenpaugh and brother Ruland. Eunice worked as a telephone operator in Perdue and Milden in her younger years. Then she married Norman Young and had one son, Cecil. She lived just west of Perdue until she fell in 2018 at which time she came to live with her niece Mildred and then into Arbor Villa for almost 2 years when she broke a hip. She then came back to live with Mildred for 1.5 years before going back to the hospital and then to Porteous Lodge for the past 15 months. Eunice was an active member of the Bausley Club for many years until it folded in 1977. She was president of the club at the time and they put on many skits and entertainment shows for the seniors with an annual banquet. She was always active in the united Church events and whatever was going on in the community. Eunice was a caregiver to 4 family members and always enjoyed doing so. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheatfield Cemetery north of Kinley, Saskatchewan. A lunch and gathering to follow at the New Horizon Senior Centre in Perdue, SK. Donations in Eunice’s memory may be made to the Wheatfield Cemetery.
