

Frank Stanley Biram was born January 2, 1922 in Wolseley, Saskatchewan. He passed away December 21, 2016 at the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre in Saskatoon. He grew up in Wolseley and completed his high school in 1941. Following this he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and began pilot training. When the RCAF discovered that he was colour-blind he had to end his flight training and instead became an aircraft mechanic. He served in Summerside PEI and Greenwood Nova Scotia. Airplanes remained an intense interest throughout his life. Leading Aircraftsman Stanley Biram married RCAF Sergeant Olive Ayers on Dec 29, 1944. After the war they started a fox farm and then a photography business, living in Wolseley, Fort Qu’Appelle, Regina, Sask, Vancouver and Cranbrook, B.C. After selling the photography business in1970, Stan and Olive moved to Victoria, where Stan worked for the BC government in the aerial photography lab until his retirement. Throughout his life Stan loved doing his art, which included painting, sketching, and carving. Fitness and outdoor recreation were another passion, with a love for downhill skiing, cycling, running and ice dancing. Music was another enduring love which continued until a few days before his passing. Stan played mouthorgan, piano, violin, and clarinet, as well as a harp and a marimba which he built himself. Predeceased by Olive in 2006, Stan moved to Saskatoon to be closer to his daughter Fran and grandchildren. Stan is survived by his daughter Fran (John) Clarke, grandchildren Neil (Susan) Clarke, and Kyla Clarke (Myles Deutscher), and great-grandchildren Cole, Alexa and Brianna Deutscher, all of Saskatoon and area. He is also survived by his daughter Beverly Biram (Iain McLean) of Woy Woy, New South Wales, Australia, and grandchildren Kate Charavel (Yann) and Alexander McLean (My Schofield), and great-granddaughter Ariana Olive Charavel of Sydney, Australia.
