Frieda was born on the family farm near Estuary, SK on November 23, 1928, one of 14 children. Frieda attended Caitness school and began working at University Hospital in Saskatoon SK, a career that spanned more than twenty years.
Frieda met her husband, Hilbert and they married on March 7, 1947 in Leader, SK. Frieda and Hilbert were blessed with three children, Caroline, Clarence and Lorraine. They purchased some land near Asquith, SK, where Hilbert designed and built the family home that remains to this day.
After Hilbert's passing in 2011, Frieda moved for a brief time to Medicine Hat, AB, to have the support and comfort from Lorraine and John. Frieda, Lorraine, John and the grandchildren then returned to the family acreage near Asquith, SK in 2012, and remained there until her passing. Frieda was able to return to her home in Asquith, as Lorraine became her caregiver for many years.
Frieda had an incredible green thumb and enjoyed planting and caring for her garden every year. She loved her family and had a ferocious sweet tooth, especially for chocolate, cookies and ice cream.
Frieda is predeceased by her parents; Fred and Martha, husband, Hilbert, brothers; Harry, Fred, Harvey and Emil, sisters; Shirley, Edith, Ruth, Dianne, and daughter Caroline.
Left to mourn her passing are her children; Clarence (Sara) of Swift Current, SK, Lorraine (John) of Asquith SK, grandchildren; Dean, Shawn, Christel, Angeline, Gavin, and Tanner and many cherished great grandchildren and her siblings; Irene, Linda, Evelyn and Earl.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Living Hope Church, 504 29th Street West. Saskatoon, SK.
