Gail was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent her youth between that city and her father’s farm near Crane Valley Saskatchewan. Gail built a respected career as a Human Resources professional, bringing fairness, good judgment, and a steady hand to her work. Outside of the office, she was happiest on the curling rink, in the company of her beloved cats, or travelling to visit family and friends. She was a proud and dedicated Saskatchewan Roughrider fan, never missing a chance to cheer on the green and white.
Gail was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years Jack McKay, in 2019. She is survived by children: Ken, Patricia and Karen; nieces Lynn Shellenberg and Shawna Pearman; and nephew Kelly Hicks. She will be lovingly remembered by her eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as her many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd Street West in Saskatoon, SK). The service will be followed by a short reception at the church and internment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
