Gertrude is survived by her loving family; daughter, Jeanine (Mark) Jagoe, granddaughter, Lise Jagoe and grandson, Donald Jagoe as well as many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Donald, her parents Mary and George Wagner, brothers Tony(Mary), Joe(Minnie) and George(Rene), sisters Clara(George) and Alice(Albert) and brothers in law Basil(Vera) and Roger Cyr.
Mom was born in Tisdale, SK in 1924 and moved to Viscount, SK at the age of 5. She later moved to Saskatoon where she met and married her soul mate Donald Cyr. They truly belonged together and as a team, managed the Holiday House Motor Hotel until it’s closure in 1990.
Family always came first for Mom and she will be remembered for how unselfish she was. Mom and Dad, along with their loving family, had a very full and happy life. As much as we will miss Mom, we are happy in the knowledge that she was so ready to be reunited with her Don.
The family expresses a special thank-you to the wonderful caregivers, Sheila at Eamer Court, St. Paul’s and City Hospital and Stensrud Lodge. We were able to keep Mom in her home for as long as possible and for the last two months of her life we were comforted to know she had the best care possible. There wasn’t one caregiver that didn’t call her sweetheart.
At Mom’s request there will be no funeral. There will be a private interment of her cremated remains. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Stensrud Lodge.
Arrangements under the direction of Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre, Saskatoon, SK.
