Glen James Stewart

Glen was born October 14th, 1941 in Mekewin, Manitoba. He was raised by his parents Jim and Anne Stewart on a small farm with his four sisters. Though he wasn't the youngest of the crew, he was vastly outnumbered by the sisters whom he adored.

From an early age, Glen began working with Ace Plumbing and heating which began his long career in the trades. As time went on, he grew a successful plumbing and heating company, which later on, he added earthwork and excavation while working side by side with his youngest son Miles.

Some of the many interests that Glen had included his love of curling, of which he was the President of the Curling committee, membership in the Elk's Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also President of the Chamber of Commerce in the town of Gladstone MB. He ran his own businesses in Gladstone as well as when he had moved to Saskatoon.

Glen will be forever remembered for his ability to tell jokes at the drop of a pin, his ability to build absolutely anything, a wealth of how to's and what to do's, the love he had of dancing with his wife anytime and anywhere, his infectious smile and cheeky grin, and the ferocity of his love for his family.

Glen was a resident at Sherbrooke Community Center for the last 16 months of his days where he made many friends, and formed lasting bonds with so many staff.

Glen is predeceased by his parents, his sisters Betty and Delores, his brother in-laws Bill, Jim, and Roy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Marilynn, his children Bev (Charles), Darrin (SharonLy), Miles (Jennifer), and Nichole (Kevin).

His grandchildren Ryan (Diana), Brittany, Paige (Brad), Derrick (Jill), Jordan (Brad), William, Emma, Isaac, Wyatt, Rhett, Reed and Willow. His great grandchildren Madison, Carter, Jake, Leighton, Grove, Hudson, Harper, Holden, Peyton, and Rylan.

The family would like to pass along the most heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Sherbrooke Veterans Village, and the caring and attentive staff members of house 10, the nursing team, and Michelle from Recreation.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday July 27, 2026 at 2pm at Sherbrooke Community Center.

Glens ashes will be interned at a later date with his family surrounding him with love.
