Rene “Sissy”, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. She is dearly loved by her husband, Ralph; son, Brent (Charmaine); grandson, Luc; siblings, Leona Hall, Regina (Dennis) Bantle, Ed Kirzinger; sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Kirzinger, Erna Kirzinger, Arlene Pauli; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marla in infancy; her parents, Michael and Henrine Kirzinger; brothers, Ted (Florence), Joe, Wilfred (Agnes), Alphonse, Roman (Lorraine); sisters, Mary (Mike) Kolla, Dina (Joe) Kolla, Joanie in infancy; and in-laws, Doug Hall, Eileen (Bernard) Lodermeier and Leon Pauli. Rene was born in Saskatoon on March 10, 1938, and graduated from Ursuline Academy in Bruno in 1956. She attended McGill University in Montreal, followed by three years of training in Weyburn and graduated as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Rene and Ralph Pauli were married in Bruno on October 30, 1962. She worked for a short time as a coordinator with the White Cross. Then for many years she was a Home Care Psych Nurse, helping many with their mental illness. While out visiting her patients, she was in a car accident, resulting in a brain injury, ending her career. Rene loved her times at Wakaw Lake, golfing, boating, fishing, a hostess at many gatherings, and the all the victorious games of Kaiser. Rene and Ralph loved their trips to Vegas and enjoyed the lights and the excitement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church. Cremation Rite of Committal will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
