

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Iona “Jean” Langley of Saskatoon, SK. Jean was born on August 31, 1930 to Maud and Tom Kriwoken in Maple Creek, SK, where she attended grades 1 through 12. Graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1952, Jean went on to work at Vancouver General Hospital for two years. She then returned to Maple Creek to work at the Maple Creek Union Hospital.
In 1954, Jean married W.C. “Fred” Langley. They raised 5 children who are left to cherish her memories - Wendy (Roger Kirk), Janice (Tim Helle), Sandra, Carol (Carey Aronetz), and Craig. Jean and Fred lived in Maple Creek (PFRA place), Swift Current, Richard farm and Nipawin where she completed her nurse refresher course in 1974. They moved to Saskatoon where she worked at Sherbrooke Nursing Home until she retired.
Jean’s grandchildren, Connie (Brent), Wyatt, Sara (Cody), Tanya (Katrina), Carlee, and Connor have been fortunate to have had their grandma in their lives for so many years. Jean is also adored by her 9 great grandchildren, Levi, Emma, Kash, Willa, Kiren, Kenzie, Dexten, Ben, and Avery. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Wilfred (Fred), her parents, Maud and Tom, and her brothers, Richard (Dick) and Phillip (Phil).
Jean will be deeply and dearly missed and will always live in our thoughts and hearts.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at Acadia Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon). Following the service, Jean will be laid to rest in peace at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Saskatoon.
