James "Jim" Smith

December 30, 1943-October 22, 2017

It is with saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather James Allan Smith on Sunday, October 22, 2017.  Jim was born December 30, 1943 in Portage la Prairie, MB to Raymond and Evelyn (Rusk) Smith.  He lived with his family on the Beaver Manitoba farm.  On July 5, 1967 Jim married the love of his life Pamela O’Neill.  Together they had four children and nine grandchildren:  Deborah Schick (Ron) – Jorja and Ava; Carla Watson (Ken) – Caitlynn, Deanna and Reid; Lana Lamarsh (D’Arcy) – Emily, Hailey, Justin, Hayden and Zachary; Jorin Smith.  Jim was an active member in many clubs in the city.  He never sat still for long, he was forever helping anyone that needed it whether they asked or not.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fishing, flying remote airplanes, antique cars, traveling in the motor home and volunteering for the Cosmopolitan Club.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cosmopolitan Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. from Knox United Church (838 Spadina Cres.
