Jean Sonya Stratychuk

The family of Jean Sonya Stratychuk (nee Swidrovich) is deeply saddened to announce her passing on June 17, 2026, at the age of 95. Jean passed away peacefully at her home in Samaritan Place, Saskatoon. Born on October 15, 1930, Jean grew up in a large, loving, musical, family as one of 12 children born to Les and Mary Swidrovich. In 1956, she married Eugene Stratychuk, with whom she shared 30 wonderful years before his passing on June 7, 1986. Jean was a remarkably hard worker who brought kindness and warmth to everyone she met. She was deeply loved and will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.

Jean’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her sister, Elsie; her daughter Jackie; her son, Brad (Tammy); her grandchildren, Sabrina (Nat), Leslie (Terry), Shawn (Camryn), Adam (Nicole), and Brady (Kaci); and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jake, Teagan, and Zack. She will also be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Brad, Tammy and Jackie wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Samaritan Place for the exceptional care, compassion and comfort they provided to Jean during her final months.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Eugene. The family also wishes to thank Mourning Glory for their compassionate guidance and support during this difficult time.
