Kathleen Jean Prytula was born on April 6, 1952 in Pine Falls, Manitoba and was the second born child to Steve & Matilda Prytula. She was raised on a farm near Brooksby, SK. After high school, Kathy pursued a nursing career that led her to Saskatoon where she met the love of her life, Brian. They were married on September 20th, 1975 and were blessed with 3 children; Trevor, Maureen and Michelle. Kathy chose to stay home and raise three kids while supporting Brian as he began his business in 1981. After the kids were all off to school, Kathy went back to work and found her passion being an educational assistant in the Saskatoon Catholic school system, working at St. Edward & St. Dominic Schools. She would have over 20 wonderful years working with special needs students until she retired in 2012. Kathy was first diagnosed with cancer in 2002. She would battle against this disease on and off for almost 19 years, but this never stopped Kathy from living and loving life - she was a true warrior! She enjoyed many wonderful trips with Brian, family and friends. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, playing games on her computer, boating & fishing, collecting artwork on their trips and casinos. Kathy lost her battle with cancer at home peacefully surrounded by love on February 9th, 2022. Kathy will always be remembered by her husband, Brian Doepker; children; Trevor (Angee) Doepker, Maureen (Curtis) Pozniak, and Michelle Doepker; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Steve & Matilda Prytula, her in-laws, Edward & Dorothy Doepker, brothers-in-law Gerry DeGagne and Frank McEvoy and her infant son, Joseph. In lieu of flowers, we ask all to donate to Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on February 16, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Parish (3339 Centennial Dr, Saskatoon) with Rev Fr David Tumback, celebrant.
