A beloved wife, mother and Baba - Kay will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Dianne (Kevin) McDuffie, Nadia (Joel) Hodorek; and grandson Zachary Lesko. Kay was predeceased by her husband Alex in 2016; parents Dmytro and Anna Michayluk, brother Paul D. Michayluk and sisters Emily Missura, Olga Fediash, Mary Uhryn, Doris Kulyk and Ann Pidskalny.
Kay was born on March 18, 1927, in St. Julien, SK. After her primary education, Kay ventured to Saskatoon to complete her hairdressing and esthetician certification at Marvel Beauty College and was a valued hairdresser for many years.
Kay met her future husband, married and returned to St. Julien district to farm with him in 1956. While continuing to tend the farm on weekends, Alex and Kay moved to Central Avenue in Saskatoon in 1959 to raise their family and to allow Kay to return to work part time at Marvel Beauty Salon while also caring for her bountiful garden.
In 2010, Alex and Kay moved into St Volodymyr’s Villa where Kay continued to live independently following her husband’s passing in 2016. Kay moved to the Terrace for assisted living in March 2026 before her passing earlier this week.
The Prayer Service will be held at St. Volodymyr Villa Chapel, (3102 Louise Place, Saskatoon) on Friday October 2, 2026, at 7:00pm with Rev. Fr. Vladimir Mudri officiating.
The Funeral Service will be held at Ukrainian Catholic Parish of the Dormition of the Blessed Mother of God, (120 – 105th Street West, Saskatoon) Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Andre Lalach officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, (279-3 Ave N, Saskatoon, SK).
