Keith died in Saskatoon on Thursday, January 27, 2022 after a brief illness.
He was born in Toronto and spent childhood there. He attended Sedbergh School in Montebello, QC, receiving the Governor-General’s Medal for academic achievement. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at Queen’s University, during which time he was a valued player on the cross-country ski team. He then undertook graduate training in pharmacology at University of Saskatchewan.
His career work was in sales and service of research equipment and supplies. Recreation involved glider flying, becoming a licensed pilot; one very memorable flight took him from Edmonton to a few miles west of Saskatoon – many hours, weightless, in silence.
He took early retirement because of declining health, living in Saskatoon until his passing. His passion became linguistics, adding familiarity with many languages to his fluency in French and German.
Keith was predeceased by his mother Joyce (Hodgert) Crawford and by his infant brother Grant Douglas Crawford. He is survived by his wife Soledad Urrutia and her daughters Maricruz and Beatriz Ormeno, father Allan Crawford, brother Ross Crawford and family, uncle Roy Crawford, aunt Norma Crawford, and by a large extended family.
At a later time there will be a Family & Friends Service of Remembrance and Interment of cremated remains at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, next to his mother and infant brother.
Arrangements in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
