It is with the greatest of sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend, Kelly Best, on January 3, 2015. At the same time, it is with the greatest joy that we are proud to say that this beautiful young man, with his kindness, laughter and love touched the hearts of so many. Kelly was born November 1, 1995 to Marie and Don Best. Living in Saskatoon throughout most of his life, Kelly attended St. Phillips Catholic School, Holy Cross High School, and finished his education at Evan Hardy Collegiate. He worked at The Keg and had plans to become an electrician. Kelly loved life, family and friends, and being with them brought him happiness. While always the jokester and comedian, he was really known for his soft, gentle and quiet ways, and for never being “more than a phone call away” for anyone needing him. He loved food, always taking in and enjoying the smell of it first. Kelly loved horseradish, hot sauce and Captain Morgan’s rum! He was known for his love of snowboarding, long boarding, buying shoes, and his orange toque. Spending time fishing with his dad, Don, was another of Kelly’s favorite times. His true nature and gentle love was never more obvious than when Kelly was with any of the family dogs. Kelly was a lover of life. Infinitely tender is the only words we can use to describe our loving boy. Kelly is survived by his loving brother, Kayle and his son Kash; his mother Marie (Von) and their children, Mia, Nino and Jessika; his father Don (Pat) and her children, Cole (Brittany), Regan, Garnet; and his nieces Alex and Evy; Grandparents, Kay McHale, Carroll Best, Nino and Kathy Agioritis; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his precious pal Kush, better known as "fat dog". Kelly was predeceased by 2 grandfathers, an uncle, and sadly some friends. Kelly leaves to mourn his passing many special and loving friends. The Celebration of Kelly’s Life will be held at the Sheraton Cavalier Hall (main floor), 612 Spadina Cr. East, Saskatoon at 2 pm Friday January 9th, 2015. A viewing has been arranged for the evening of January 8th at Mourning Glory Funeral Services, 1201 8th St E, Saskatoon. Family viewing from 7 to 8 p.m., all others who wish to share a final moment with him are welcome from 8 until 9 p.m. We ask that you make his celebration one of color and comfort. Wear hoodies and sweatshirts. Wear your toques and ball Caps. Keep the sad clothes in the closet. Kelly would have wanted it that way. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate that donations be made to the Calder Centre (2003 Arlington Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7J 2H6). Interment will take place at a later date.
