September 3, 1933 – January 27, 2022
The self-proclaimed World’s Greatest Driver, Kenneth Russell McKenzie, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the age of 88. Dad was always ready to sing a tune loudly in public, tell a dad joke, or, his true passion, correct your grammar. Ken was a teacher for 33 years of Social Studies, Math and, for one memorable year, the director of the original “Glee” choir (including choreography) at the Kamsack Collegiate Institute. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Norma; his four children, Catherine, Laura (Lyndon), Ryan and Jennifer (James); nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Vivian and Russell; brother, Leonard; sister-in-law, Iris and niece Valerie. The family would particularly like to thank Andrea and the Women of Golden Wellness, as well as the staff of Primrose Chateau for their friendship and wonderful care of dad. Ken’s family invites you to celebrate his life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK). A light lunch to follow and Rite of Committal at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Masks are required at the church and if you are unwell, please stay away as there will be livestreaming at www.faithproductions.ca/livestream . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation (1702 20th Street West Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9).
